What is prosperity planning?

Prosperity planning is a holistic approach to business, financial, and personal planning. Our education and accountability system is custom tailored for entrepreneurs seeking something different. We co-create process and accountability around work-life integration, time management, finances, and technology.

How does prosperity planning differ from financial planning?

The goal of Prosperity Planning is to transcend the "What" of your financial plan and focus on the "Why" that drives your personal life mission. Our collaboration will provide the basis for creating a unique "How" for living your dream without the bias or limitation of any one service provider. N8 Ventures LLC does not provide financial advice, recommend or solicit purchase of any securities, sell any financial instrument/insurance products, or take custody of client assets.

How do the monthly/annual plans differ from the enterprise plan?

The monthly and annual plans represent our standard membership offering. This is suitable for an individual looking for our core planning membership.

Our enterprise plan is a custom offering for a deeper dive into your business. This plan is suitable for members looking to do comprehensive exit planning to prepare their business for sale, or who are looking to bring on a dedicated executive advisor to work within their existing team. We have brought creative direction to marketing departments, developed financial models for new service offerings, and sourced talent for new teams.

What is exit planning?

  • Exit planning is an intentional process to holistically balance:
    • Personal - What does life look like now and after an exit?
    • Financial - Have you planned properly for wealth goals?
    • Business - Have you created enterprise value worth acquiring?
  • An exit plan asks and answers all the business, personal, financial, legal and tax questions involved in transitioning a privately owned business.
  • It includes contingencies for illness, burnout, divorce, and death.
  • Its purpose is to maximize the value of the business at the time of exit, minimize taxes, and ensure the owner is able to accomplish all his or her personal and financial goals in the process.

Why is exit planning needed?

  • Only 20 to 30% of businesses that go to market actually sell
  • 80-90% of the owner's wealth is trapped in their company
  • 50% of exits are non-voluntary: Death, Divorce, Disability, Distress, Disagreement
  • 60% of owner’s do not understand their exit options
  • 80% have not engaged with or formed a transition advisory team
  • 75% of owner’s profoundly regret selling their business just a year after selling

How does the exit planning process work?

There are three stages in the exit planning process:

  1. Discover - Where are you and your business today?
  2. Prepare - What steps do we need to take to be ready to sell?
  3. Decide - Do we want to prepare to go to market or keep building value?

To start, we conduct a discovery assessment to uncover:

  • Your personal wealth gap
  • Your business profit and value gaps
  • An initial range of value your business could theoretically sell for today

What have you accomplished to provide real value to other business owners?

Nate founded Ruben Digital, a marketing agency located in Chicago's suburbs. Serving 150+ clients over eight years, he completed the Goldman Sachs 10KSB program, and had a successful exit!

Nate started financial planning at Northwestern Mutual. He helped 100+ clients implement financial plans, led new hire mentorship sessions, and presented keynote at university recruitment events. Nate completed the Exit Planning Institute's advisor program, and now helps entrepreneurs successfully scale and sell businesses.

Are you a business coach?

There are elements of consulting that resemble coaching: accountability check-ins, goal-setting, ongoing education. However, each service offering is uniquely designed to provide concrete, actionable feedback with a process to make it happen. Getting into action with clients, creating tangible work products, and providing direct support with team members are cornerstones of the various offerings. The process can involve talent sourcing and development for clients, as well as providing strategic introductions within our network.

Are you a venture capital funding business?

No. N8 Ventures is a vehicle for Nate Ruben to fulfill his creative passions and desire to share his talents with others. The Venture refers to the several business ventures doing business under the LLC.

Do you help business owners secure funding?

Yes. There are many types of funding opportunities clients look for:

  • Banking Partnerships
  • Private Debt
  • Venture Capital
  • Working Capital
